The effect of intramammary challenge with Escherichia coli (h = 0) on concentration of plasma non - esterified fatty acids (NEFA; A), glucose (B) and beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA; C) in 30 primiparous Holstein cows during early lactation. Samples collected at -12, 12, 36, 60, 84, 132 and 180 h were collected prior to morning feeding. *Differences (P ≤0.05) when compared to h = -12.
