Influence of butyrate and forskolin (FSK) on growth performance of broilers. Day-of-hatch male Cobb chicks were supplemented with or without 1 g/kg microencapsulated sodium butyrate (diet), 10 mg/kg FSK-containing Coleus forskohlii (CF) extract individually or in combination with 9 replicate pens per treatment and 8 birds per pen (n = 9) for 42 d. Average daily gain (ADG), average daily feed intake (ADFI), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were calculated for the entire period. Statistical significance was determined using one-way ANOVA, followed by post hoc Tukey’s test. The bars not sharing a common superscript are considered significantly different (P < 0.05)
