The cultured cells underwent one of the following medium changing regimens: 1) Seeded with 3 mL of medium and the medium was routinely changed every 2 d (Routine); 2) Seeded with 2 mL of medium, followed by the addition of another 1 mL after 24 h, and then every 2 d, 1 mL of medium was removed from the well and replaced with 1 mL of fresh medium (Modified); 3) Seeded with 3 mL of medium but the medium was not changed for 7 d (Unchanged). Viability on Day 0 represents the initial viability at seeding.
