The effect of intramammary challenge with Escherichia coli (h = 0) on concentration and yield of milk glucose (A and B, respectively), BHBA (C and D, respectively), glucose - 6 - phosphate (G6P; E and F, respectively), lactose (G and H, respectively), citrate (I and J, respectively) and fat (K and L, respectively) in 30 primiparous Holstein cows during early lactation. Samples collected at -12, 12, 36, 60, 84, 132 and 180 h were collected prior to morning feeding. *Differences (P ≤0.05) when compared to h = -12.
